Does your child know what to do if he or she finds a gun?
Sponsored by the NRA, Eddie Eagle GunSafe® program is a gun accident prevention program that seeks to help parents, law enforcement, community groups and educators navigate a topic paramount to our children’s safety.
This program has helped to educate millions of children nationwide about what to do if they ever find a gun. The topic is introduced gently and discussed though cartoons, songs and activities. It repeatedly drives home four simple steps that children should follow if they ever encounter a firearm:
- Stop
- Don't Touch
- Run Away
- Tell a Grown-Up
During the program the children are visited by Eddie Eagle, and usually by a local police officer to discuss this important topic and to answer questions posed by the children or their parents.
This program is usually offered once a month and is FREE TO THE PUBLIC. Visit our Facebook page for the current listing and to enroll or check out our events section for more information.
